Welcome!
Just as a reminder, you all need to come up with a story idea for the first edition, and start outlining your piece. Come prepared with something written, even if it's something very basic, to the next meeting; we won't meet again until October 7th, by the way. We don't have school next Tuesday, 9/30.
For those of you who want to work on design and layout, try sketching out some ideas for us to take a look at. What should our front page look like?
Anyone who's interested in writing the advice column, come up with some ideas for how you'll collect students' questions. Do you want to have a mailbox somewhere in school where students can leave questions? If so, where? Can it be done by email? Start brainstorming.
You also need to continue brainstorming questions for faculty interviews. I've made a separate post with the questions we typed up on Tuesday, feel free to add more.
On that note, Allyson has already made an appointment to interview Ms. Hammerla; if any of you are interested in interviewing the other new teachers, let us know.
Feel free to post your story ideas to the blog, or email them to us. Give us some idea of what you're working on so we can identify if anyone is working on the same idea. We don't want you to duplicate each other's work, and then have to start all over with something new.
I think that's all the news for now. Feel free to email, or stop by and see either one of us with questions or comments. Happy writing everyone!
